MG introduces Digital Studio, India's first digital carless showroom

- First Digital Studio inaugurated in Bengaluru 

- The showroom has no cars, but digital experience on offer 

MG Motor India has introduced a ‘Digital Studio’ showroom in Bengaluru. This first-of-its-kind digital showroom has no car on display, but the carmaker claims that the facility is aimed at offering a unique visual immersive experience. MG has partnered with the Mumbai-based Eccentric Engine to utilise their ‘One 3-D’ automotive visualisation platform in the digital showroom. 

According to the carmaker, the costs of operating a conventional car showroom including aspects like space, rentals and infrastructure have increased. Therefore, the Digital Studio business model helps to unlock operational efficiencies and offers more convenience. Especially since the customer preferences move towards digital interface lately. In this digital showroom, the customers can get interactive product demonstration of the Hector, using digital tools such as ‘immersive voice’ and AI-based human recognition. Apart from the interactive visualiser, the Digital Studio would also offer augmented reality and other digital engagement tools for customers. 

Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director, MG Motor India, commenting on the inauguration of the Digital Studio, said, “The first Digital Studio is a pilot project and showcases our vision towards the future of automotive retail without a car on display. With the growing importance of omnichannel brand presence, we believe that such showrooms represent the next-generation network footprint in the automotive business”.
