- Set to arrive in 2020 in limited numbers
- Still wears ‘63’ graphics paying homage to brand’s birth year
After many rumours, Lamborghini has dropped a teaser video confirming their plans of building a track-focused hypercar. The unnamed hypercar is developed through Raging Bull’s Squadra Corse motorsport division and is expected to arrive in 2020.
The sharp-looking V12-powered hypercar in the video wears many track tools like racecar’s rear wing, F1-style roof-mounted air-intake, scooped out front and a hardcore aero kit. What’s also seen on the green-hued body is “63” moniker akin to the ones seen on Aventador SVJ paying homage to 1963, Lamborghini’s birth year. Other noticeable things in the teaser video are centre-lock wheels, Brembo brakes and Pirelli tyres.
However, what makes this track-only hypercar more important is the fact that it could be the swansong of Lamborghini’s naturally-aspirated V12. Although power figures are still unknown, there are rumours of an output upwards of 830 horsepower. The mental output will be sent to all four wheels through racecar-like six-speed Xtrac sequential transmission.
When it finally sees the light of day, the new hypercar might adopt the Aventador moniker with a new suffix, perhaps SVR akin to the track-focused ancestor – Miura SVR. It will surely have a very limited and exclusive production run but we don’t expect to see any one-make racing series in
