- Kia QYI will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue and Maruti Vitara Brezza
- To be launched in August 2020
Ahead of its launch that will take place in August next year, the Kia compact SUV, codenamed QYI, has been spotted testing in India once again. A new spy video shared on the web reveals a completely camouflaged test-mule of the model.
As seen in the spy video, the Kia QYI will feature LED tail lights, high mounted stop lamp, rear bumper mounted number plate recess, roof rails, shark fin antenna, dual tone ORVMs and ORVM mounted turn indicators.
To be based on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue, the Kia QYI compact SUV is expected to be offered in two body styles including Tech Line and GT Line. The model is also expected to get signature Kia features such as the tiger nose grille and UVO smart connectivity.
Powertrain options for the upcoming Kia compact SUV will also be shared with the Venue. These options will include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a 1.0-litre direct injection turbo-petrol engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DCT unit. Also on offer will be a detuned version of the 1.5-litre diesel motor from the Seltos, paired exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. Once launched, the Kia QYI will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport.
