- Scores one star for adult protection
- Scores two stars for child occupant protection
- Datsun recently updated redi-GO to meet AIS-145 norms
Datsun’s entry level product in India, the redi-GO has scored one star in the latest round of crash test conducted by the Global NCAP. The crash test reveals that the redi-GO has received one-star rating for adult occupant protection as the bodyshell and the footwell have been deemed as unstable. Moreover, the crash test result revealed that while the redi-GO offered poor protection to the driver’s chest area, it gave good head and neck protection.
The hatchback scored two stars for child occupant protection as it failed to restrict the movement of the child seat thereby risking injury to the child’s head. Moreover, the redi-GO has lost points due to lack of Isofix child seat mounts and a three-point middle seatbelt. Datsun had recently updated the redi-GO to meet the AIS-145 norms which includes standard safety features like ABS, EBD, a driver’s side airbag, speed alert system, rear parking sensors and seatbelt reminders for the driver and front passenger.
