Spy shots of the interiors of the yet-to-be-launched Maruti Alto 800 have been posted online by the motorheads at carblogindia. From the pictures we can see that Maruti has gone with the tried and tested formula of outfitting the car with a light brown interior with silver inserts.
In terms of parts, those of you who have owned a Maruti Suzuki small car in the recent past will find many familiar bits like the steering, AC controls, door handles and arm rests. However we can see some newer elements like a storage space above the glove box, oval shaped vents in the centre and power window switches in the central console, a move which has saved the need for extra wiring in the doors as well as an extra switch on the driver’s side.
The doors have a slot for speakers and a space for storage on the door. The model that has been snapped is outfitted with a single DIN music system, but given the price range of the car it will mostly not be a standard feature.
The seats which are trimmed in a mix of black and brown have integrated headrests. Despite the airy feel the quality of plastics seems low and has most likely been lifted from the other models. The OVRMs while trimmed in a basic black colour on the outside have internal adjustment stalks.
The Alto 800, which is likely to release somewhere between October and November, is expected to be priced below Rs 2 lakh with the option for a CNG version which is expected to cost Rs 30,000 more.
