Rolls-Royce has unveiled an extremely exclusive edition of the Phantom Coupe at Pebble Beach over the weekend. Only 35 examples of this Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection will be made in honour of Charles Stewart Rolls (co-founder of Rolls-Royce), who was fond of flying and was only the second person in Britain to have a pilot’s license.
The special edition gets a grey paint job coupled with a matte finish grille, hood and window frame. As expected the car sports an aeronautical theme with an aviation-grade clock, matte-black instrument cluster and lower dash designed to mimic an old wooden airplane propeller. Lot of attention has been given to detailing – the transmission tunnel has an anodised aluminum cover and exposed torx-head bolts to replicate the fuselage of Rolls’S6B aircraft.
The Aviator Collection also gets a leather-lined glove box, embossed with a quote from Rolls’, "The power of flight is as a fresh gift from the Creator, the greatest treasure yet given to man".
The prices for the Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection have not been announced yet, but then since Rolls-Royce cars are available in India, you can order one here provided you have enough money, can pull right strings, are patient, love boxy designs and have previously owned a premium luxury car.
