As reported by carwale earlier, top executives of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) met on Monday afternoon to take stock of the company’s resources at its Manesar plant as well as to discuss the progress of investigations into the July 18 violence.
One of the main decisions taken during the meeting was with regard to the re-opening of the plant. SY Siddiqui, MSIL chief operating officer, said that the company was likely to complete its assessment of the plant by Friday; and subsequently decide on commencement of production.
Last month, the company had quoted that there new car launches might get delayed to resolve the problem in hand. However, Economic Times has now reported that the company will launch the new small car, the Alto800, on schedule – during festive season. The new car is expected to replace the M800 and the 800cc Alto. The company might then also launch the Ritz facelift by end of September or early October.
