Honda has released images of the all-new 2013 Accord that will go on sale in the international market by the end of this year. The Japanese car maker has also made a statement that the new model is ‘the most sculpted Accord ever’ – and we agree!
At the first glance, the new model looks like a facelift version of the current generation; the design upgrades are minimal, but look closely and you will notice the changes. The new more aggressive headlamp cluster with projector beams and LEDs; redesigned bumper with sleek fog lamps and more prominent lines are the visible changes to the front. The ‘most sculpted’ Accord takes on the Toyota Camry and the Hyundai fluidic Sonata in the international market – it is not the most radical looking car, but we think it looks great with the aggressive face without missing the typical Honda’s sophisticated feel.
The shoulder line is thick and bold, making the 2013 Accord look muscular. The rear gets all LED treatment, which actually looks like the upgraded version of the new Camry’s tail. The tech specs have not been divulged yet, but they will include four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol engines in America.
Honda still sells decent number of Accords in India sans the diesel option and might as well offer the new model here in the first half of 2013. The company is also working a diesel engine for the developing markets and we hope to get this premium sedan with an oil-burner soon.
