Maruti Suzuki will resume production at its Manesar plant soon, said Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana Chief Minister while speaking at a function in Kolkata on Sunday. Despite this being seen as the first step towards resuming production at the troubled plant, he however did not specify an exact date in this regard.
Terming the July 18 violence as a stray incident, he said that MSIL was satisfied with the steps the state government had taken with regard to investigations into the riots. The chief minister said that he had got an assurance from Maruti that it would not shift its facilities out of the state and added that Haryana had one of the lowest crime rates in the country.
Meanwhile, according to reports, colleagues and family members of Awanish Kumar Dev, the HR executive who was killed during the violence, paid tributes to him on Sunday evening.
