The wait for the Maruti Suzuki Kizashi is over. The luxury sedan has been finally unveiled with much fan fare. The Kizashi is Maruti Suzuki’s foray into the luxury sedan segment and the company has made sure that the car comes with all the bells and whistles you hoped for. Unveiled at the Auto Expo in 2010, the Kizashi had already generated a good amount of fan following. The killer SX4 kind of looks combined with the features of the car make it a potent potion in the Segment.The two variants are priced at Rs 16.50 and Rs 17.50 lakhs(ex-showroom Mumbai). Bookings will be accepted at all Maruti Suzuki dealerships with a Rs 50,000 deposit.
The Kizashi will be a CBU and will be powered by 2.4-litre petrol engine which will churn out 185 bhp and will feature a six-speed manual transmission.The Kizashi is infact wider than the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Civic but the wheelbase is similar to that of both. The sedan looks sporty and aggressive with the 215/55 R17 rubber and twin exhausts with stainless steel covers. The car also gets an in-dash entertainment system and steering mounted controls. The beige interiors and the leather seats in the car does give the up-market look to the sedan and well defines why it is in the category of ‘Luxury Sedans’.
We do await the coming of a diesel option on both the SX4 and the Kizashi. Lets keep our fingers crossed and we hope to see both these cars in the market this year.
