A bad race for our driver Munjal Savla. With a good start to the weekend, and a great start ti the race, Munjal Savla's weekend had a tragic end. We uncover the story in his own words.
SUNDAY RACE:
In one word, SAD.It was a very short Sunday for me. All of around 600 metres !!!
The first race was under nice and sunny conditions. I had a great start and made 2-3 places on the start itself. The first corner is a very fast right hander (taken at 110-120 kmph) and i wanted to avoid the mistake that I had committed earlier by taking the outside line at the start. So, slotted behind a train of cars on the inside line.
Then, before i know it, someone hits me from the rear mid-corner, i try to control it, but i spin, still on the track though.
Now facing sideways, my car was a sitting duck waiting to be hit. And hit me another car did, BIG SHUNT, the rim and the metal near the rear door was literally torn apart, the chassis got damaged beyond repair.THE END (with a big bill to follow though). Luckily and testament to the safety of the Polo Cup cars, I wasn't injured at all and walked away on my own legs from the crash site.
