Datsun is known for its budget-friendly hatchbacks in India and was one of the first car makers to take on the Altos and Eons with a car that was much bigger than its rivals but for a similar price. It has been three years since the launch of the Datsun GO and to celebrate the occasion, Datsun has unveiled the Datsun GO Anniversary Edition hatchback and the Datsun GO+ Anniversary Edition family wagon. Here are the top five things you need to know which make the Anniversary Editions stand out.
1. Premium Styling
The Anniversary edition stands out with its bright silver paint and the decals on the hood, the roof and the side doors. A blue-grey, off-set staggered stripe runs through the length of the car beginning on the hood and going over the roof. The flowy stripe on the side starts from the lower half of the front door flowing upwards towards the C-pillar giving the car a sporty and premium look. The car also has an ‘Anniversary Edition’ badge on the tailgate and a contrast coloured rear spoiler as well.
2. Vibrant Blue Interior
The special edition cars get a special interior as well. The grey fabric upholstery makes way for the premium black seats which get the vibrant bright blue inserts on the seat and the backrest. The deep blue inserts also highlight the instrument cluster, the centre console and the gear lever housing, giving the cabin an upmarket feel.
This is a segment first. The Anniversary Edition comes with ambient cabin lighting to alleviate the mood in the cabin. While this feature was available as add-on accessories in this segment, it is the first time a carmaker has offered it as a part of its factory-fitted features list. The highlighted floor mats also add to the ambience.
4. New Infotainment system
Anniversary editions of the Datsun GO and the GO+ get a new 2-DIN infotainment system. It has a small digital display screen in the centre and gets smartphone connectivity through Bluetooth. You can also play music using the USB input or the auxiliary input and comes with a four-speaker setup.
5. Safety features
All Datsun cars come with engine immobilisers for safety against theft. In addition to it, the Anniversary edition gets remote-controlled central locking. It also gets reverse parking sensors to make sure your car is safe when you are reversing into tight spots.
The Datsun GO and GO+ start at Rs 3.30 lakh and Rs 3.85 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and are offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that develops 67bhp of power and delivers a fuel economy of about 20kmpl and are available in four trims and six colour options to choose from.
