As we march towards the new financial year where the rules and regulations laid out by the new budget will start getting implemented, let us take a look at the cars that are expected to be launched before we close our books of accounts.
Maruti has been trying to get footing into the premium category of vehicles, something that its arch-rival, Hyundai has managed well right from the beginning. After the Baleno hatch, the S-Cross and the Vitara Brezza, Maruti is now entering the niche of performance hatchbacks. The Baleno RS with its new 100bhp BoosterJet engine is all set to debut today.
Lamborghini Aventador S
Well, the Baleno RS is not the only sporty car to be launched today. We have, arriving in India, one of the fastest raging bulls ever built. The Lamborghini Aventador S is a fire-breathing monster developing just under 800bhp of power from its massive V12 engine. The flagship Lamborghini supercar is all set to wow us with its edgy looks and soulful exhaust note.
The Honda Jazz redefined the premium sedan with its space when it was first launched about a decade ago. We are supposed to get the Jazz-based crossover on 16th March and with its space management, there is no doubt that it will be one of the most spacious sub-four metre crossovers. Would it shake up the Vitara Brezza from its comfortable pedestal? Well, Honda’s pricing should answer that.
Chevrolet Beat
It has been more than two months after we caught the new Chevrolet Beat testing without camouflage and it is high time the American brand launched the car. We expect it to happen this month, as always, and should help Chevrolet build a platform for the Essentia compact sedan which we have spotted testing as well.
The new Hyundai Grand i10 was launched last month and Vikrant liked the way the new cars felt and drove, especially the diesels. We feel, it would be best if Hyundai introduced the new Xcent as well, for it will rejuvenate the compact sedan to take on the ageing Swift Dzire before its facelift is launched next month.
