Ford has announced that it will launch 23 new vehicles next year. The company also has plans to introduce a new EcoBoost engine. Apart from this, the American manufacturer also plans to equip 70 per cent of the cars from its portfolio with start-stop systems.
There are no particular details available about the 23 new models but Ford confirmed that 16 cars will be launched in the United States of America. The Mustang, Lincoln MKC, Transit and Transit Connect which were earlier announced are included in this list of North America bound cars.
According to Ford the automatic start-stop mechanism helps in improving the fuel economy. Driver-assistance technologies like dynamic cruise control will also help boosting the fuel savings by about 10 per cent. Ford will introduce these systems in its upcoming cars. Around 50,000 cars equipped with the start-stop systems are expected to be sold globally. The new EcoBoost engine will also help in adding to the fuel savings and cut down on the emission levels.
Raj Nair, Vice President, Global Product Development, Ford said, “Next year, we are embarking on our most ambitious global launch year ever to meet customer demand for our products around the world. We are investing even more through our One Ford plan to serve more customers, in more segments and deliver profitable growth.”
Ford launched the EcoSport in India this year. The EcoBoost variant of the compact vehicle is available in the country. So we can expect the automaker to bring more cars with new advanced systems in developing car markets like India in the near future.
