The previous Skoda Superb was at the top of its game and with this all-new lightened, sleeker and more powerful iteration, Skoda India is hoping for an even bigger supremacy in the entry-level luxury segment. With prices starting at a rather tempting Rs 22.68 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Superb is proving to be good value when compared to more expensive yet smaller imported rivals. Here’s a deeper look at all the major changes that the new Superb carries over its predecessor. 

Like the old model, the new Superb has a limo-like appearance. What’s entirely new here, though, are the modern design cues taken from the Skoda Vision C concept. 

Design highlights on the outside include a sharp looking pair of headlights with daytime running LEDs, typical Skoda grille design and C shaped taillights and a coupe-like roofline.

Skoda India is offering two different alloy wheel designs for the Superb. Seen here is the fancier looking 17-inch wheel that’s exclusive to the higher-spec L&K variant. 

The new Superb marks the return of L&K variant line. Standard features here include a 12-speaker Canton sound system, cooled seats, ambient lighting and a virtual opening for the boot lid.

Skoda has used VW’s flexible MQB platform to develop the Superb and as a result, it’s noticeably lighter than its predecessor. It is, in fact, 75kg lighter than the old Superb. 

While the petrol Superb gets the 1.8-TSI unit, the diesel model features a 2-litre TDI unit. Gearbox options, meanwhile, include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch or a 6-speed dual-clutch. 

Ex-showroom prices for the Superb start from Rs 22.68 lakh for the 1.8TSI Style MT, going all the way till Rs 29.36 lakh for the top-spec 2.0TDI L&K AT.
