- Toyota Glanza is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
- It gets four variants across two trim levels.
- Two petrol engines on offer with two transmission options.
Maruti Suzuki has dispatched 2,142 units of the Toyota Glanza in May 2019. It should be noted that the Glanza is a rebadged Baleno, and is manufactured by Maruti Suzuki before it is shipped to Toyota. In April, India’s largest carmaker dispatched 364 units of the Glanza. These could be the display or test drive units.
The premium hatchback is priced between Rs 7.22-8.90 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Surprisingly, the Glanza G MT variant (89bhp), which is based on the Baleno Zeta Dualjet MT trim, is priced Rs 65,000 lower than the latter, while rest of the versions are priced on par with the corresponding Baleno trims.
Now, if you are planning to buy the Toyota Glanza, chances are, you can only choose between four variants and two engines/gearbox options, unlike the Baleno, which also comes with a diesel engine. The base Glanza G MT gets an 89bhp/113Nm 1.2L K12N dual-battery mild hybrid petrol motor with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Rest of the models employ an 83bhp/113Nm 1.2L K12M engine. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT.
