Maruti Suzuki will launch the much-anticipated Brezza (YBA) compact SUV in February 2016 for the Indian market. This Ford EcoSport rival will also compete with the Mahindra TUV300 if priced between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
The manufacturer will first display it at the Auto Expo next month. The spyshots of the car have hinted that the Brezza will have a sporty stance thanks to the bumpers with skid plates and body cladding. It will be offered in funky colours to add to the appeal. The cabin of the five-seater vehicle is expected to borrow styling elements from the S-Cross and Baleno. The features will also be in line with the equipment list from these vehicles.
We can expect Maruti to power the Brezza with the tried and tested 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel and 1.2-litre petrol mill. The former might be tuned to produce around 90bhp of power, which then would be much appreciated considering the 100bhp Ford EcoSport. The five-speed manual transmission will be standard with the probability of an optional automatic transmission.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza will be offered in five trim levels – L, V, V+, Z and Z+. The car's bookings are expected to start soon with the first batch of the vehicles reaching dealerships as well. And with its launch next month, we can expect deliveries to start in April.
