Chevrolet has been the first one to announce discounts this month. To push their flailing numbers, General Motors is offering benefits worth as much as Rs 75,000 off on the Sail sedan, Rs 76,000 on the Beat hatchback and Rs 77,000 on the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV. The D-segment sedan, Cruze, takes the top honours with benefits worth Rs 1,38,000 including free insurance and a cash discount. Also, a lucky few customers may also win a cashback of Rs 1 lakh on purchase of any Chevrolet car.
Ford has announced offers on all the three cars launched this year. The Ford EcoSport, being the most popular of the lot, is offered with benefits up to Rs 44,000. The Figo hatchback attracts discounts worth Rs 53,000 while the Aspire compact sedan gets the maximum discount of Rs 62,000. You can also opt for a car loan at 7.99 per cent for the EcoSport along with the discount.
Toyota is trying to push its slow movers, the Etios sedan, Etios Liva hatchback and the Etios Cross with buyback offers for your existing car along with a discount of Rs 30,000 for the sedan anhatch and Rs 40,000 discount on the Cross. The steady sellers Corolla Altis and Innova are offered similar benefits while the Fortuner is being offered at a discounted interest rate with an EMI of Rs 29,999.
Hyundai has announced a price hike for the next year while offering discounts now. The discounts range from Rs 44,000 for the Eon to Rs 70,000 on the SantaFe SUV. The discounts are in the form of zero down payment, free extended warranty up to three years and also cash discounts. There are no offers available for their bestsellers – the Elite i20 hatchback and the Creta SUV.
Honda has also joined the discount party but not pan India. There are discounts on select cars in select cities as per the availability of stocks. While the Mobilio MPV is offered with benefits worth Rs 1.5 lakh in Noida, the benefits are worth Rs 90,000 in Pune and none for Mumbai or Bangalore. The Amaze is being offered with a Rs 40,000 benefit package almost everywhere.
Renault has promised a daily prize and a weekly prize for car buyers while also offering car discounts worth Rs 40,000 to Rs 80,000 for the Duster. Models like Fluence and Koleos will attract fat cash discounts with other offers summing up to at least Rs 1 lakh.
Nissan is also offering discounts of over a lakh on the Terrano with fresh competiton from the Creta and S-Cross. Even the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is being offered with discounts ranging from Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 along with the accessorised Premia editon being launched to attract buyers. Skoda has offered a one-year grace period on EMI for new Rapid buyers.
Tata Motors has discounts across the range with the Nano being offered for benefits worth Rs 56,000 and the Bolt worth Rs 60,000.
In case of premium manufacturers like Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Mini, Volvo and Jaguar-Land Rover, you can avail cash discounts and benefits worth anywhere between two to as much as 10 lakh depending upon the stocks and the popularity of the car you plan to buy.
The discounts mentioned here are indicative and the actual figures may vary depending upon the manufacturer, the car, the dealer and the location. But if you are out to buy a car, be ready to bargain hard because, more often than not, you will get a better deal for the New Year.
