Datsun has taken the wraps off the Go-Cross concept car at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Based on the Go+ compact MPV, it gives us an idea of what a crossover from the budget manufacturer will look like.
The picture reveals that Datsun has gone in for the standard compact crossover formula that includes a large grille with a chrome bezel, beefy plastic cladding on all four sides, roof rails and chunkier wheels. The concept car gets projector headlamps and LED DRLs which add to its muscle factor.
It is currently on a concept car so there are no details of the interiors or what will be available under the hood. However, given the popularity of the crossover segment, we can assume that this vehicle won’t be too far away in production form.
The company has said that the next Datsun model will be launched in early 2016 and will be the first vehicle to be based on the Renault-Nissan alliance CMF-A platform. This is expected to be the production version of the Redi-Go concept car that was shown at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
