The BMW M4 GTS has debuted at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. In essence, a high-powered version of an already powerful car, the M4 GTS gets all the usual BMW trickery in the form of a reworked engine, suspension and aerodynamics kit. Further, it has undergone a significant weight loss thanks to extensive use of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic.
Outward appearences suggest that this not your ordinary BMW. Its loud, has multiple colours and all-in-all looks quite aggressive. Pretty much everything is carbon-fibre right from the front splitter, the bonnet as well as the massive rear wing. It gets a titanium exhaust, LED lights and M-spec alloy wheels. Moving into the cabin, we can see sports seats with three point harnesses, updated dashboard and a rear section which now comprises a glass-fibre reinforced plastic shelf and wrapped in alacantera.
The excitement that this car provides comes courtesy a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six that produces 492bhp/600Nm of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels via a seven-speed M-spec Dual Clutch Transmission. 0-100kmph gets done and dusted in 3.8 seconds while the top speed is 305kmph.
A crazy high-powered BMW with track focussed updates - sounds like a mouth-watering proposition? We think so too, but sadly it is expected to have a limited production run and will most likely have sold out by the time prices are announced.
