2024 Kia Sonet powertrain details
The compact SUV is available in three powertrain options with the one we tested here being the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a seven-speed DCT. Its ARAI-claimed mileage is 19.20kmpl. Let's see what its tested mileage turned out to be.
City mileage
The Sonet was driven for 76.4km in the city and consumed 7.76 litres of petrol. This shows it returned 9.9kmpl while its instrument cluster displayed 10kmpl.
Highway mileage
On the highway, the Sonet covered 88.1km and took up 4.97 litres of fuel putting up a mileage of 17.7kmpl. That's close to the indicated 18kmpl on the tachometer. This mileage is satisfactory for a compact petrol SUV weighing 1,180kg and providing the convenience of an automatic.
