- Is a mid-life facelift for SUV
- Available with both petrol and diesel power
Launched in India
Hyundai has launched the updated Alcazar SUV in India, with prices starting at Rs. 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol range and Rs. 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel range. This is a mid-life update for the SUV, following in the footsteps of its five-door sibling, the Creta, in terms of design and feature updates.
Design changes
On the outside, the Alcazar gets a new grille, headlamps, design for the alloy wheels, and the signature Hyundai-connected taillamps. It has retained the silhouette of the outgoing model but receives more than sufficient elemental changes to make it feel like an all-new vehicle. Buyers can choose from eight exterior paint schemes, namely, Atlas White, Abyss Black Pearl, Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red, Robust Emerald Pearl, Starry Night, Titan Grey Matte, and Atlas White with Abyss Black roof.
Cabin and features
Inside, Hyundai has updated the cabin with features like bigger dual digital displays, ventilated rear seats, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, boss mode function for the left rear passenger, and now Level 2 ADAS. The six-seat and seven-seat options continue as before and have even been divided across the variant trim, similar to the outgoing model.
Powertrain options
The Hyundai Alcazar can be had with the automaker’s 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol, which produces 158bhp/253Nm, or the 1.5-litre diesel, which produces 113bhp/250Nm. A six-speed MT comes as an option for both, while it’s a seven-speed DCT for the former and a six-speed AT for the latter. It shares these powertrains with the Creta, Kia Seltos, and even the Kia Carens.
Competition
Rivals to the Hyundai Alcazar include the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and the Mahindra XUV700, all three-row SUVs with six and seven-seat options. We will be driving the Hyundai Alcazar facelift later this week and if you have any questions on the car do let us know on our social media channels.
