Toyota’s luxury arm, Lexus has revealed the 2020 model year RX facelift. The Lexus RX facelift comes with the fresh exterior styling, reworked suspension and updated infotainment system. Additionally, the company has also revealed the larger three-row RXL with fresh upgrades.
Based on what can be seen, the new Lexus RX gets a revised front and rear section, along with 18-inch wheels. The Lexus RX will be the first model to get the new Bladescan technology, which claims to project LED beams onto mirrors for increased forward visibility. Apart from standard safety features likes airbags and ABS with EBD, the Lexus RX gets low-light pedestrian detection and lane-tracing assist. In addition to vehicles and pedestrians, the pre-collision warning system now also detects bicyclists.
Mechanically, the 2020 Lexus RX will continue to be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 in the RX350 and a hybrid system in the RX450h. The F Sport package is also available in two versions: one with cosmetic tweaks and the other with performance upgrades with cold air-intake, sporty steering and retuned engine sounds. Additionally, the F Sport models also get adaptive dampers.
The new Lexus RX will go on sale in the international market later this year and is likely to be introduced in India later in 2020. Post-launch in the country, the new Lexus RX will compete against the likes of the BMW X6 and the Jaguar F-Pace.
