Last month, Tata Motors introduced the 2019 Hexa in India, with updates made to its exterior and features list. The updated Tata Hexa has now started reaching dealerships across the country. As part of the model year update, the 2019 Hexa gets dual-tone options for the roof on the top-end variants. The MPV can be had in two paint schemes - infinity black and titanium grey.
The black roof can be had with either white, silver or grey colour options, while the grey roof can be had with blue or brown paint schemes. Apart from the dual-tone colours, the 2019 Tata Hexa also gets new 16-inch alloy wheels that receive a charcoal grey finish. The old 19-inch machined alloys are now available only on the XMA, and XTA trims.
The MY2019 Tata Hexa features an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is similar to the one found on the Tata Tiago’s XZ+ variant. The new system replaces the older 5-inch unit and comes with Android Auto compatibility. The display is connected to a 10-speaker JBL audio system. There aren’t any changes done to the interiors apart from the feature additions.
Mechanically, the Hexa continues to be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel motor. Barring the base XE, the Varicor 400 motor produces 154 bhp of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The engine can be had with either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. On the XE variant, the same 2.2-litre oil burner puts out 148 bhp and 320 Nm. It is mated to a five-speed manual.
Tata Hexa is currently the flagship offering from the Indian carmaker. However, this is set to change as Tata Motors is readying a new flagship seven-seat SUV that is based on Tata Harrier. The SUV was showcased as Tata Buzzard at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The Buzzard is likely to be launched as Tata Cassini for the Indian market towards the end of this year.
