2019 Rolls-Royce Phantom spied

Rolls-Royce has always excelled at producing fancy vehicles and one of those fancy set of wheels is the Rolls-Royce Phantom.  The Eighth-generation Phantom was spied testing in China and is on course to arrive in less than a year. Recent spy shots of the 2019 Rolls-Royce Phantom test mule have revealed the body lines and the interiors.

This Phantom carries the iconic design from Rolls-Royce, and the manufacturers are unlikely to change it. But the car gets tweaks on the front and rear. The front of the vehicle features a larger grille than its predecessors and the car now features laser-LED headlamps, a technology pioneered by the parent company BMW. The side profile is similar to its predecessor with the iconic suicide doors, but the roof goes lower as it flows to the rear of the car. The test mule is equipped with matte black alloys with 285/40 R22 wheels, a possible styling feature. The rear isn’t strikingly different and carries the same boot lines and design flow.

The interior shots show that the rear seat of the vehicle has been placed higher for a dominant and commanding position for the passengers.  The teflon umbrellas scooped into the rear doors remains unchanged.  The spy pictures also reveal a surprisingly low-tech dashboard with an analogue instrument cluster. Also a large steering wheel dominates the cabin.

The Eight generation Phantom is built on an aluminium frame and is powered by 6.6-litre V12 engine mated to an eight speed automatic transmission, capable of producing 571bhp and 780Nm of torque to haul the mammoth.

Rolls-Royce is expected to showcase the next generation Phantom later this year.
