It was back in 2017, when the Kwid Climber edition was first launched. Now that the facelift has come in, Renault has made this edition as the hatchback's top-spec trim. The 2019 Renault Kwid itself comes with some major cosmetic and styling updates. And now, prospective buyers opting for this Climber version will get some more unique changes. Which ones? An all-new Zanskar blue colour is what looks best for the Climber. Otherwise, the Kwid facelift gets five colour options comprising of the outback bronze, fiery red, electric blue, ice cool white and moonlight silver.
Up front is a heavily updated face that includes a new grille flanked by horizontal daytime running lamps. It overall creates an impression of one single unit.
Now, the new horizontal headlamps are positioned below with black inserts. Notably, this Climber trim gets a larger black housing with orange highlights.
There's a large central air-dam with underbody cladding. And even if in profile it looks identical to the pre-facelift model, new side decals help differentiate it from the predecessor.
This Climber variant boasts of all-new 14-inch volcano grey muscular multi-spoke wheels. They complement the high ground clearance of 184mm, which is 4mm more than before.
Round at the back are new tail lamps with C-shaped LED light guides. Then, the revised bumper gets some more cladding with sculpted elements and vertical reflectors.
The cabin is tweaked with a dual-tone dashboard with sporty orange, piano black and chrome interior accents. There's even a leather-wrapped steering wheel for a premium feel.
Customers will appreciate the new digital instrument cluster with black and blue colours. It is brighter, looks better and also gets a crisper font.
For the Kwid Climber's AMT version, there's an updated finish on the gear knob and even the sporty orange door trim accents. Similar is the case for the manual version.
Climber badging is evident on the seats that get sporty orange accents on the fabric upholstery with striped embossing. This is a premium crossway fabric with contrast stitching.
A new eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system occupies most space on the centre console. This not only comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support but video playback as well.
The Renault Kwid Climber Edition is only available with the BS-IV compliant 67bhp, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. It comes mated to either a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
While the pricing of the standard versions of the Kwid start from Rs 2.83 lakhs for the base model, the top-end Climber EASY-R (AMT) trim goes up to Rs 4.82 lakhs.
