The latest iteration of the Renault Duster was recently launched with a slew of cosmetic changes and a range of new features. This is the second major facelift for the current-gen Duster, which continues to be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, with the choice of an automatic and an all-wheel drive (AWD) system. Let's take a look at the top eight new features on this updated model.
1. Colours
Apart from the usual colour palette, the facelifted Renault Duster is now also offered in two new colour options - caspian blue and mahogany brown.
2. Revamped fascia
The fascia of the Duster has been revamped with a new tri-winged full chrome grille flanked by tweaked headlamps. These headlights are now equipped with both projector lights and LED daytime running lamps. The SUV's front bumper gets a new dual tone body colour and features muscular skid plates and black housings on either end with new round fog lamps.
3. New alloy wheels
One of the main visual highlights continues to be the new set of 16-inch Everest Diamond Cut alloy wheels. These give a funky character to the SUV.
4. Visually appealing add-ons
Other cosmetic enhancements include body coloured ORVMs, kayak roof rails, new waterfall LED tail lamps and a matte black tailgate embellisher.
5. Black interior theme
The SUV's cabin also has gone through a host of changes, primarily with a new midnight black interior theme. The restyled dashboard now comes with new central air-con vents with chrome bezels. Even the three-spoke steering wheel is new with soft-touch buttons for music, telephony and cruise control among other features. Then, the centre console gets glossy silver inserts on either side to add to the bling.
6. New touchscreen
Renault has upped the gizmo list, of which the 7.0-inch touchscreen display tops the chart. It features MediaNAV Evolution that comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and voice recognition. There's also an EcoGuide, which is a system developed to monitor driving patterns and provides guidelines to improve fuel efficiency.
7. Safety
As for the safety features, the 2019 Duster is compliant with BNCAP front, side and pedestrian crash norms. It also adheres to the new, more stringent safety norms. The other equipment from the SUV's safety suite includes ABS with EBD, driver and passenger airbags, seat belt reminder and speed alert as standard and even rear parking sensors. Furthermore, there are other features like a reverse parking camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and even hill-start assist.
8. New accessories
The carmaker has also brought in a host of new accessories for customers to personalise their vehicle. This includes a range of 38 different categories of innovative accessories for the new Duster.
