A heavily camouflaged 2019 Ram 1500 pickup truck was caught testing recently in the US. The highlight of this sighting was that our spy photographer was able to get up-close and test the body panels with a magnet.
Thanks to this, we confirmed that the new pickup truck will continue to be constructed largely of steel, barring the aluminium tail-gate and bonnet. This comes after the same weight saving practices were found in the Ford F-150, and the upcoming Chevrolet Expedition.
Other than this, a closer look at the facelifted Ram 1500 in the pictures depicts a larger cabin, and redesigned front and rear ends. Furthermore, sources also suggest that the coil springs with optional air-suspension will continue to be used in the new iteration.
Power for the 2019 Ram 1500 pickup is expected to be sourced from a range of hybrid and turbocharged four-cylinder motors. It is also rumoured that a more powerful V8 version may join the line-up eventually. Reports state that the 2019 Ram 1500 pickup could be showcased at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2018, so stay glued to CarWale for more information.
