What you see here is the interior of the 2019 Ram 1500, caught virtually undisguised. The new Ram truck will get much of FCA's latest technology in an attempt to keep it ahead of the updated Ford F-150 and upcoming replacements for the current GM models.
The new UConnect 4.0 is likely present here, but with a taller screen than in other FCA products, in a Tesla-like vertical arrangement with physical buttons running along the sides and below. Other features will include self-park assist, lane-keep assist and other driver assistance tech, and a built-in trailer brake.
In addition to a key-activated automatic tailgate opener, the Ram 1500 will get remote control over the access height when air suspension is selected, so passengers and cargo can be loaded more easily without having to start the truck first.
We expect the 2019 Ram 1500 to be shown in January at the Detroit Auto Show, with sales starting shortly thereafter.
