- Spotted on test in India for the first time
- Likely to get mild cosmetic upgrades over the international spec model
- To share platform and engine options with the Nissan Terrano, Renault Duster and the Renault Captur
The upcoming Nissan Kicks has been spotted on test in India ahead of an official debut in India early in 2019. The vehicle has been on sale internationally for quite a while now and post its launch in India, it will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. The Indian-spec model however is expected to be slightly different from the international spec model.
Although the heavily camouflaged version does not reveal much about the vehicle. We expect to see upgrades in the form of a revised rear door frame and tweaked alloy wheel design. The Kicks is expected to share platform with the Captur, Duster and the Terrano. It is believed that the higher-spec variant will be offered in a contrast paint scheme. The interior bits are however expected to be shared with the international spec model.
Mechanically, the upcoming Nissan Kicks is expected to be offered with the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options as the Nissan Terrano, Renault Duster and the Renault Captur. The diesel version is limited to a five-speed manual transmission while the petrol gets a six-speed and an automatic transmission option.
More details about the Kicks will be known in the days to come.
