Very little is known about the new Nissan Altima that gets showcased next month at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), apart from a few official teasers. However, that’s about to change since our spy photographers caught a glimpse of its interiors.
The pictures depict the upcoming sedan with a new tablet-like infotainment screen that will be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This iteration of the Altima is also rumoured to get the brand’s acclaimed ‘ProPilot’ semi-autonomous driving system.
As you can see, the new Altima will look quite different from the outgoing car since it has borrowed design cues from the Nissan V Motion 2.0 concept. Especially around the front fascia since it carries the same V Motion grille that can be seen on the new Rogue and Murano SUVs.
On the powertrain front, Nissan has not revealed any details. But, to keep things competitive in the segment, reports suggest that the new Altima could get a four cylinder/V6 engine with forced induction, along with the option of a CVT gearbox.
Expect to see the 2019 Altima at Nissan’s stall at the NYIAS that kicks off on March 30.
