The A-Class sedan has been caught by our spy photographer for the first time. This picture shows a typical sedan silhouette unlike the CLA that sports a swooping roofline. The result? A higher roofline that translates into more headroom for the rear occupants.
Despite the test mule being camouflaged, one can spot its similarity to the Mercedes Concept A Sedan that was previewed at the Auto Shanghai. As can be noticed from the shot, while the nose of the car will resemble the new A-Class hatchback, the true differences lie beyond the B-pillars. Also, since the tail lamps are partially visible, it gives us a glimpse of how they will look on the finished product.
There is further speculation that Mercedes may be revising the interiors of its entire range of compact vehicles, which is why Concept A sedan’s interiors weren’t revealed back in China. Proof of this can be seen from reports where the interiors of the new A-Class prototype was spied with a dual digital screen setup. Sources claim that the new five-door A-Class hatchback will debut in 2018, and it be followed by the A-Class sedan shortly after. Needless to say, this sedan is going to be cheaper than the CLA.
