Maserati has launched the MY2019 Quattroporte in India for a price of Rs 1.74 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) for the GranLusso and Rs 1.79 crore for the GranSport. The model year update for the four-door Italian sedan comes with new exterior colours, wheel designs and a redesigned gearshift lever apart from Pieno Fiore leather upholstery.
The updated Quattroporte takes its new design elements from the gorgeous Alfieri concept. So there is the new grille with characteristic vertical chrome rib elements that contrast with the ‘shark nose’ finish as seen on all Maseratis. The reworked bumper and the changes in headlight signature are noticeable only to keen eyes. The rest of the exterior remains unchanged. The paint scheme gets 10 choices in colours apart from the new tri-coat colours like iconic Rosso Potente and the deep dark Blu Nobile. There are two new alloy wheel designs available as a part of the package in 20 and 21-inch sizes
Inside the opulent cabin, Maserati introduces for the first time, the full-grain Pieno Fiore leather upholstery. The Pieno Fiore is available as an option in three colours with specific stitching on the seats and double stitching on the door panels. The Italian carmaker also offers two new high-gloss interior veneers for the Quattroporte. The Maserati’s MTC+ infotainment system has updated display graphics and improved climate control system ergonomics. The Harman Kardon Premium Sound system is standard and can be upgraded to more expensive Bowers&Wilkins Surround Sound systems as an optional audio package.
Under the hood of the Quattroporte is a single powertrain option – a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine. There is no petrol engine option with the updated Quattroporte. The oil burner produces 275bhp of power and 600Nm of twisting force. Maserati also provides the Active Sound technology of the Quattroporte Diesel exhaust system to make the sedan sound sporty. The transmission is the eight-speed ZF gearbox which now features a redesigned gearshift lever with more intuitive shift pattern, shorter travel and improved operation.
The Maserati Quattroporte comes as a stylish Italian alternative to the likes of BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8, Jaguar XJ L and Lexus LS in India.
