Maserati’s very own super-SUV, the Levante Trofeo has been officially unveiled at the 2018 New York motor show. The production ready Levante Trofeo introduced at the event gets additional aesthetic and functional elements over the standard model. The performance SUV will compete against the likes of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the BMW X5 M.
Under the hood, the Maserati Levante Trofeo is powered by a 3.8-litre bi-turbo V8 engine built by Ferrari that generates an impressive 582bhp of power and 729Nm of torque. With power on all four wheels, the SUV is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just about 3.9 seconds and is capable of attaining a top speed of 300kmph. To efficiently handle that additional bit of performance, the SUV gets 50:50 weight balance ratio. Moreover, the low centre of gravity combined with finely tuned double-wishbone front/multi-link rear suspension makes it an impressive performer.
The new Maserati Levante Trofeo gets a sporty fascia with sleek LED headlights that surround the front grille with piano black bars and a lower honeycomb mesh. The hood gets functional vents that aid in cooling. As for the rear, the SUV features a large masculine bumper with oval quad exhaust tips and a large carbon fibre horizontal element that connects the LED tail lamps. The vehicle sits on large 22-inch forged aluminum “Orione” wheels, which is coincidentally the largest one to feature on a Maserati. The display vehicle featured special matte Grigio Lava paint and at the time of sale it will be available in eight unique exterior color options.
As for the interior, the Levante Trofeo gets sports sets wrapped in premium leather with a choice of black, red, or tan, with contrast stitching. Along with a large touchscreen infotainment system, the SUV also gets 17-speaker Bowers and Wilkins surround sound system that puts out 1,280 watts. The dashboard is adorned with Trofeo badging along with matte carbon finish and a Maserati clock.
