- 2019 WagonR StingRay begins testing in India
- The test-mule of the model sports 15-inch alloy wheels from the Ignis
Maruti Suzuki launched the 2019 WagonR in January this year. Now, the company seems to be working on the Stingray variant of the new generation tall boy hatchback. Spy images shared on the web reveal a test-mule of what could be the upcoming 2019 WagonR Stingray.
The 2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR Stingray test-mule is completely camouflaged and does not reveal many details. The only noticeable difference in the model in comparison to the regular 2019 WagonR is the addition of 15-inch black coloured alloy wheels from the Ignis.
If this is indeed a Stingray variant of the new Maruti WagonR, the model could come with a revised interior that could include new upholstery and a rear parking camera. Changes to the exterior of the model are likely to be limited to projector headlamps and sportier bumpers.
Since the previous generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR Stingray sat on the top of the variant list, we expect the variant of the new-gen model to be no different. This means that the 2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR Stingray is likely to be offered exclusively with the 1.2-litre, BS-VI compliant petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Transmission options could include the same five-speed manual and AMT unit as seen on the regular variants.
