The new Jeep Wrangler boasts of many upgrades and improvements over the outgoing model. It continues to get a seven-slot grille, round headlamps, flat fender flares and its iconic styling to stay true to its heritage. Yet, take a closer look and you will notice there are many new features, the top six of which we will take a look at here.
1. All LED lighting
The traditional circular shape of the headlights has been retained, but it now gets premium LED lamps as standard across all variants. The package also includes LED fog lamps, tail lamps and DRLs on the front fenders.
2. Open-it-up
Be it a hard-top, soft-top, without a top, with full doors or without the doors, the Wrangler was made for open-air driving. The latest version makes it even easier with a new multi-length hinge pin system, which simplifies the removal and installation of doors. Then, the easily removable roof panels continue to be offered through the lightweight Freedom Top hardtop for open-air freedom.
3. Wash-out cabin
When you take the vehicle out for off-roading, it's not just the exterior but the cabin as well which gets soiled. For easier cleaning, the new Wrangler gets a new wash-out interior with one-way drain valves in the floor. These let the water flow out and not back in, so owners can just take the carpets out and wash the lower sections directly with water.
4. New U-Connect music system
The new U-Connect system is a fourth-gen unit with highlights being pinch-to-zoom display, vivid clarity, enhanced processing power and better responsiveness. It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easier and safer operation of the smartphone while driving.
5. New Instrument cluster
Another highlight is the new seven-inch instrument cluster that gets a display showing up driving data information. It helps to keep a track of not just the speed or driving data, but active safety and security features, music information, navigation and more.
6. New Audio system
Occupants will be kept entertained thanks to an Alpine Premium Audio System paired with a 552-watt 12-channel amplifier, eight speakers and a rear subwoofer. This system also features active noise cancellation and acoustic laminated windshield glass.
