Isuzu has launched the new D-Max V-Cross for India at a price of Rs 15.51 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The new D-Max V-Cross is available in two trims – Standard and High-Grade (Z). The updated model gets a fresh face with new front grille and newly designed contours. Additionally, the pick-up truck gets 20 new features. The new V-Cross now gets two new colour options - sapphire blue and silky pearl white, in addition to existing colours like ruby red, titanium silver, obsidian grey, cosmic black and splash white.
Isuzu claims that the vehicle is inspired by the ‘Cyborg Orca’ as it comes with a new grille and Bi-LED headlamps. The sides do not get any major updates except for 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, black B-pillar and newly designed side-step for functionality and enhanced overall appeal. The rear looks fresh with an upgraded chrome bumper and the embedded LED tail-lamps.
The Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross gets an all-black interior and newly contoured seats to offer better comfort as compared to its predecessor. The High Grade (Z) variant comes with perforated leather seats. The contemporary instrument cluster now houses the new 3D Design Electroluminescent meter and gear shift indicator, while the dashboard comes with a piano black garnish. As for convenience, the new V-Cross gets the PESS (passive entry and start/stop system) feature and a USB charging port in the second row. The five-seat vehicle gets a seven-inch touch screen audio system with USB input, DVD, AUX, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.
As for safety, the new Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross now gets seat-belt with pre-tensioner & load limiter, speed sensitive auto door lock, co-driver seat belt reminder, HSA (hill start assist) and HDC (hill descent control).
Mechanically, the V-Cross continues to be powered by the 2.5-litre, BS-IV compliant, high-pressure common rail Fuel Injection diesel engine that produces 134bhp and 320Nm of 320Nm of torque at 1800-2800rpm. Interestingly, the V-Cross is equipped with off-roading features like 4WD (shift-on-fly) drive mode, high ride suspension that offers higher ground clearance, a wider track with longer wheelbase. The chassis frame is designed with iGRIP feature (Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform), which claims to offer greater stability even at hi-speeds and sharp curves.
