-10th generation sedan for India
-1.8-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel
-LED head lamps
Honda will launch the 10th generation Civic in India tomorrow. The iconic brand name makes a comeback to the country after nearly five years and for the first time, it will be offered with both petrol and diesel power. We have already got behind the wheel of the sedan and you can read about our drive experience with the Civic petrol CVT here.
The top-of-the-line ZX model gets 17-inch alloy wheels, LED head lamps, Android Auto/Apple Car Play compatible infotainment system with 7.0-inch display, sunroof and electric adjustment for the driver’s seat. Safety wise you get six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, ESP, ABS and Lane Watch Function.
Like the previous Civic, this one too has a stunning design, replete with Honda’s signature grille, boomerang-shaped tail lamps and of course, the low slung coupe lines that have defined the Civic range. Motivation is courtesy of a 141bhp 1.8-litre and 120bhp 1.6-litre diesel. The former will only be offered with a CVT while the latter gets a six-speed manual.
The Civic is a rival to the likes of the Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra and the Toyota Corolla in the D-segment of the Indian car market. This price bracket also nets SUVs like the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming MG Hector.
