Engine
1.6L i-DTEC Diesel Turbo Engine
The Civic finally comes to India with a diesel motor in its 10th generation. It’s the same engine that also does duty in the recently launched CR-V. The Earth Dreams unit makes 119bhp @ 4000 rpm and 300Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm.
The diesel engine for now gets a 6-speed manual gearbox only and we think Honda just might pair it up with a CVT in the future.
1.8L i-VTEC Petrol Engine
The Civic also gets a petrol option in the form of the 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine. Talking numbers, the petrol motor makes 140bhp @ 6500 rpm and 174Nm @ 4300 rpm.
The petrol engine does not get a manual option and comes with a CVT gearbox that also gets paddle shifters.
