This is the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500, spotted testing yet again, this time with new details and revised body lines.
The new Sierra will get a major redo for 2019 with a significant revision that keeps some conservative construction methods, but adds new technology and refinement. The update also sheds hundreds of pounds of weight compared to the outgoing model.
For the GMC, a blocky, upright grille and light setup will run counter to the Silverado's new rounded, carlike face that should differentiate it more when the two are parked side by side. Prominent LED running lights up front and rear look to be standard even on mid-range models based on these new photos. while high-end Denali versions are expected to get a full-LED setup.
But like the Chevy, the GMC will get two V8s, a 5.3-litre and 6.2. The latter and the new 3.0-litre inline six turbodiesel will also benefit from start/stop technology. It's likely base models will continue with a six-speed automatic and go up to a 10-speed auto on diesel and 6.2 models. Also reserved for higher trims will be a powered tailgate. The new Sierra will be shown at a special event in Detroit on March 1.
