The 2019 Ford Figo facelift has been launched in India, priced from Rs 5.15 lakhs to Rs 8.09 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The facelift is yet another attempt by Ford India to crack the highly competitive B1 segment that includes the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10. The new Figo is available in three trims and seven variants spread across three engine options.
What’s good?
As compared to the old model, prices of the 2019 Ford Figo are reduced in the range of Rs 19,000 to Rs 74,000, depending upon variants. The Figo now gets a top-spec Titanium Blu trim that includes features like auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, side and curtain airbags and much more. It gets dual-tone paint scheme with a blacked-out roof, ORVMs and the 15-inch alloy wheels. Safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt reminder and rear parking sensors are standard across the trim levels.
What’s not so good?
The automatic gearbox is offered only with the 1.5-litre petrol unit, and it is available only on the top-spec Titanium Blu trim level. Moreover, safety features like ESP, traction control and hill hold assist are only available in the petrol AT variant. The Figo doesn’t feature LED headlights or rear AC vents, which some of its rivals get.
Best Variant
Considering the Ford Figo is a family car, most of its buyers look at a value offering. According to us, the mid-spec Titanium trim offers the best value for money, which gets important features like alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic AC, steering mounted controls, push button start/stop, and keyless entry. You only lose out on features like rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps, side and curtain airbags, and the black and blue trim for the exteriors and interiors. All these features are available in the top-spec Titanium Blu variant, which commands a premium of Rs 55,000.
