The 2019 Ford Escape has been spotted undergoing trials in Michigan, US. It features larger dimensions and a mildly redesigned fascia, and for the first time will also be available with a hybrid powertrain.
The spy shots show that the new Escape will continue with the athletic Ford styling. The fascia sports the characteristic trapezoidal grille and the wraparound headlamps, mildly revised to give it a fresh look. It rides on redesigned alloy wheels. Inside, it will get a redesigned dashboard with new creature comforts. As for powertrain options, the Escape will continue to get a slew of four-cylinder petrol engines including two EcoBoost engines. It will also be offered in four-wheel-drive trims.
Reports suggest that Ford is also working on a top-end hybrid variant, called the Escape Energi which will replace the C-MAX Energi. The Escape is sold as the Kuga in European markets. It will go on sale in mid-2018 as a 2019 model.
