The 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 has been spied on the streets of Detroit. The pickup truck is expected to be launched in the American market with more innovations and refinements like those which have helped the current Dodge Ram stand out.
The next generation truck will carry an aggressively styled front and updated styling cues on the side. It will have an innovative split tailgate as an option. The wheelbase of the spotted truck gives a hint as to the vastly roomier dual cabin and a long flatbed for the cargo.
Chrysler is expected to upgrade the interior, especially on the popular top trim, with the latest UConnect system and other technologies showcased in the recent FCA cars.
The power source for the truck is expected to be a 3.0-litre V6 EcoDiesel although the FCA’s on-going problem with EPA over diesel emissions may alter those plans. The next Ram will gain a mild hybrid system with a 48-volt electrical system and a smaller turbocharged inline four engine. The new Ram will carry a few traits from the current model such as the Ram boxes and the air suspension.
We shall expect the new Dodge Ram 1500 to be unveiled in the American market by late 2018. The manufacturer is expected to showcase the truck in the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The new Ram will rival against the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150 and GMC Sierra 1500.
