The 2019 BMW 3 Series has officially been launched in India today and priced between Rs 41.40 lakhs to Rs 47.90 lakh (ex-showroom India). This new-generation 3 Series is now available in two engine options - petrol BMW 330i and the diesel BMW 320d. The latter is offered in two trims - sport and luxury line, while the top-spec M Sport comes only in the petrol guise. Here's a picture gallery of the sedan.
BMW had launched the first-gen 3 Series in 1975. So far, the carmaker has sold over 15 million units of the 3 series sedan across the globe.
Based on the CLAR platform, the new 3 Series shares its underpinnings with the 5 Series and the flagship 7 series. This new avatar is now in its seventh-generation.
Exterior updates include a larger kidney grille, LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs, while laser lights can be had as an option too.
BMW's famed Hofmeister kink design cue is now a part of the C-pillar instead of the door. It's clear the car draws inspiration from the new 8 Series.
What's more, there's a new and interesting feature in the form of the self-levelling hub caps on the alloy wheels, similar to the Rolls-Royce cars.
Round at the back, the sedan sports new wraparound tail lamps, which are similar to the new 5 Series. They make the car appear wider.
A small difference between the 320d and 330i are the 17-inch light-alloy wheels fitted to the former version. The latter petrol version comes equipped with a set of 18-inch ones.
Inside the slightly more spacious and newly designed cabin is a driver-focused cockpit. There's a new digital instrument panel and an 8.8-inch touch screen infotainment system with many new features.
