The Rajasthan government released biofuel rules 2019 on Friday, on the occasion of World Biofuel Day. Interestingly, Rajasthan emerges as the first state in the country to bring the policy for biofuel after the notification of the Centre.
Sachin Pilot, Deputy Chief Minister, Rajasthan stated that promotion of biofuel will reduce the need for fossil fuel in the interest of the environment. He further added that the decision will generate employment opportunities. Reports indicate that India currently imports 82 per cent of fossil fuel.
Pratap Singh, Transport minister revealed to the media that biofuel will soon be used to power the busses of State Road Transport Corporation.
