The 2019 Audi S6 was spotted undergoing performance testing at the Nurburgring track in Germany. Based on the yet-to-be-unveiled next-generation Audi A6, the new S6 will go on sale globally in late 2018 or early 2019.
At first glance, the Audi S6 looks identical to a regular street car. Look closely and you will notice subtle cosmetic upgrades and the four-pipe exhaust system sticking out of the back. It also gets bigger brakes to improve the stopping power. It rides on racier alloy wheels and low profile tyres.
Under the bonnet, it is expected that the S6 may get the 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine currently used across the S5 range. While the engine produces 350bhp and 500Nm in its current guise, we can expect a slightly higher output for the 2019 S6. It might even get Audi’s new 48-volt electric system.
The Audi S6 will be unveiled a while after the debut of the new Audi A6 and the A7. As for the Indian market, Audi doesn’t sell the S5 given the lack of demand for such sporty saloons. You can alternatively opt for the equally potent Audi S5 or the monstrous RS6.
