Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has introduced the 2018 Camry hybrid in India at a price of Rs 37.22 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The upcoming vehicle gets fresh cosmetic upgrades for the interior along with new features. Mechanically, the vehicle continues to be powered by existing engine options.
As a part of the upgrade, the interior of the new Camry hybrid sports a new tan coloured upholstery. Probe deeper and you will see that Toyota has included faux wood trim on the dashboard, arm rests, steering wheel and the centre console. The premium sedan now comes with 12-speaker JBL audio system, an updated touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, navigation, USB and AUX compatibility. Moreover, it also gets three-zone climate control, head-up display, wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats and power reclining rear seats with collapsible headrest.
The 2018 Toyota Camry hybrid does not get any major exterior upgrades. It continues to be offered with LED headlamps which are complimented by a large chrome slat grille. The front bumper features a large air dam with circular LED foglamps that give it a sporty appeal.
Under the hood, the Camry hybrid continues to be powered by the existing 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that comes mated to an electric motor. Altogether it generates a power output figure of 202bhp and 213Nm of peak torque. The vehicle offers two drive modes – Eco and EV. The Camry Hybrid uses 6.5MAh Nickel-metal Hydride battery pack. As for safety, it gets nine airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist and hill start assist. The vehicle also gets vehicle stability control (VSC), electronically controlled brake system (ECB) and ISOFIX child safety seat mounting points.
