Tata Motors recently brought in a new top-spec XZ Plus variant of the Tiago with cosmetic changes and new features. This trim boasts of enhanced looks and additional features over the current XZ variant. It is available in single and dual-tone body styles, with ex-showroom prices starting from Rs 5.57 lakhs for the petrol, and Rs 6.31 lakhs for the diesel. Let's take a look at its picture gallery.
This XZ+ variant is now specially offered in two new exterior colour options - canyon orange and ocean blue. The other colour options are carried over from the older colour palette.
The most prominent change on this XZ Plus trim is the optional gloss black roof, which gives the car a dual tone look. There's also a roof spoiler to add to the sporty quotient.
Unlike the Tiago with conventional headlamps, the new top-of-the-line trim boasts of projector headlamps with smoked bezels. These are similar to the ones on the 2018 Tigor.
Tata Motors has upsized the wheels from 14-inch to 15-inch dual-tone alloy ones. However, for some reason these are only available on the petrol and not the diesel version.
All XZ trims, whether petrol or diesel, were equipped with electrically adjustable mirrors. In addition to this, the ones on this new trim get power folding ORVMs with welcome function too.
The other few cosmetic updates include a chrome accent on the tailgate to add to the bling. Also, body side mouldings are now standard on these XZ Plus variants.
Moving on to the inside, the older manual knobs for the air-conditioner are gone. These have been replaced with a new console for automatic climate control.
Another update that will catch your attention is the new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto connectivity, voice recognition, SMS notifications and read outs.
Mechanically, the Tiago XZ Plus continues to be offered with the same powertrain options. The petrol model is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder mill that produces 84bhp and 114Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the diesel version draws power from a 1.05-litre, three-cylinder motor that puts out 69bhp and 140Nm of torque. Both these engines come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
