2018 Renault Duster spotted testing in Spain

The second-generation Dacia Duster has been spotted testing for the first time. A mildly revised version of this same car will be launched in India with a Renault badge, shortly after its global debut. 

The heavily camouflaged test mule doesn’t divulge a lot of details, although it is evident that the overall profile remains the same. The new Duster retains the distinctive grille, and even the A-pillars and roof rails profile seem similar. It seems like Renault will be following a ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ policy with the new generation model. The wheels however, feature a new design while the headlamps seem rectangular-ish, similar to the Nissan Terrano. Inside, we can expect an upgrade for the infotainment system with a touchscreen display. We do not expect any change in the powertrain options.

The Duster has been the cash cow for Renault and Dacia, both in India and globally. It has turned out to be a big hit amongst the audience looking for an affordable and sensible crossover. With the current Duster being a seven year old model, we can expect the new generation model to be launched in the second half of this year, as a 2018 model. And there will also be a new Nissan Terrano based on this same model.
