German premium performance car manufacturer Porsche has recently commenced bookings for the new Cayenne Turbo in India. Based on the new MLB Evo platform, the vehicle also gets an updated interior and a new engine. Interestingly, the vehicle also gets rear-wheel steering for the first time. Exterior
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo takes design cues from its younger sibling, the Macan and the new Panamera. The sports SUV is now 63mm longer than the outgoing model at 4,918mm and its width has been increased by 44mm and it now measures 1,983mm. Owing to the new platform, the SUV is now lighter by 65kg and its height has been reduced by 9mm for a sportier stance. The headlamps now have the four-point LED signature. The rear gives away the bulbous tail lights of the outgoing car and adopts a new sleek LED taillight design which runs across the rear. The SUV sits on large 21-inch wheel and will offer the optional 21-inch Cayenne Exclusive Design wheels for those who further want to enhance its sports quotient. Special highlight for the vehicle includes adaptive roof spoiler, which deploys to any of five positions, depending on the driving situation.
Interior
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo gets a large 12.3-inches infotainment touchscreen and plenty of driving aids. The vehicle gets adaptive Sports seats with memory package for the first time, along with integrated headrests in the front and a deep embossed ‘turbo’ logo. Moreover, it also gets a decorative strip design in cross-brushed aluminium. The popular performance SUV will also be offered with 710 watts Bose sound system and 18-way adjustable seats. Behind the multifunction Sports steering wheel is the new instrument cluster and it cabin is offered with multiple ambient lighting options as well. The company will also offer a wide range of personalization options to suit personal tastes. With the rear bench seat folded down, it offers luggage compartment capacity of up to 1,680-litres.
Engine
Under the hood, the Cayenne Turbo will be offered with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which produces 550bhp of power and 770Nm of torque between 1,960rpm - 4,500rpm. The SUV will be capable of sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 286kmph. For efficiency, the engine also come with electrical system recuperation, thermal management and the auto start/stop function with coasting function.
